Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Digi-Pramaan collects, how it is used, and how it is protected, in keeping with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its associated rules.
Information we collect
Departmental accounts (Enforcement Officer, Admin, Reviewer) carry a name, username, department and posting region, issued and managed by the Department of Consumer Affairs. No self-registration is available.
The Citizen Grievance Portal requires only a photograph of the product in question. Your name and contact details are entirely optional, and reporting a concern never requires creating an account.
How we use it
Information collected is used solely to investigate and act on compliance concerns under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and its Rules. If you leave contact details on a grievance, they are used only to follow up on that specific report.
How your details are protected
A citizen's name and contact information are stored separately from the compliance record their report creates, and are never shown on that record or in any public status lookup. Only the fact that contact details were left is retained alongside the record — never the details themselves.
Sharing of information
Information is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing. It may be disclosed where required by law, or as part of a formal enforcement or legal proceeding under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009.
